Bol

One of the most popular holiday resorts on the island of Brac is certainly Bol in the south of the island. Located at the foot of the Vidova Gora mountain and right next to the famous Golden Horn, the holiday island's landmark, countless holidaymakers come to this extremely charming holiday resort every year. Hermitage Blaca (cave monastery)

The beautiful monastery complex of the Hermitage Blaca is definitely a real highlight and one of the most interesting sights in Brac. Also known as the cave monastery, this mystical site is located directly in the interior of the island on a huge rocky cliff and can only be reached via a short hike.
The monastery was founded in the 16th century by monks, the so-called Glagolites, who were fleeing the Turkish attacks from the mainland to the island of Brac. The building later served as an observatory.
Today, the Blaca hermitage houses a museum worth visiting, where artifacts from the monarchy and astronomical equipment such as old telescopes can be seen.
Mount Vidova Gora

A famous attraction on Brac is Vidova Gora, which at 778 meters is the highest mountain in the entire Croatian islands. From the top you can experience a breathtaking view of the north of the island, down to the Golden Horn and over to the neighboring island of Hvar. Sporty hikers hike from the town center in Bol up to the summit of Vidova Gora, which takes around 2.5 hours.
Many people also come by car, as an asphalt road leads from the north side of the island almost directly to the transmitter. From the parking lot you can reach the highest point on foot in just a few minutes.
Murvica

Dragon's Den

A historically important attraction is the dragon cave of Murvica in the south of the island. This cave can only be reached via a hike that starts from the small town of Murvica.
Since the path is very poorly marked, tours with a guide are offered daily at 8:30 a.m. in high season. The tour guide then grants access to the cave, where you can admire, among other things, the artistically impressive work of the dragon relief.
Dominican Monastery

The Dominican monastery on the island of Brac dates back to 1475 and was founded on the site where there was once a bishop's palace. Today this historic building is one of the most beautiful sights on the south coast of Brac, right near Bol.
Located on the small Glavica peninsula and surrounded by two absolutely dream beaches, Bijela Kuca beach and Martinica beach, a breathtakingly beautiful backdrop awaits you when you visit. The Dominican monastery currently also houses a museum that exhibits valuable historical objects that were recovered from the sea.
Lovrecina Bay & Archaeological Site

Lovrecina Bay is a beautiful highlight of the island of Brac. Located in the north of the island, a picturesque, natural sandy beach awaits you in a fantastic setting.

In the west of the island of Brac lies the small village of Lozisca with 300 inhabitants. The backdrop of this town, which was built directly on a slope and enchants with the typical Dalmatian stone houses, is particularly impressive.
Countless olive trees and grape vines grow all around, which gives the town a lot of Mediterranean flair.
The most important attraction is the large parish church of Saints John and Paul, a church from 1820 whose richly decorated church tower can be seen from afar.

A visit to the small inland town of Skrip is a fabulous tip, especially for anyone interested in the history of the island of Brac.
It is the oldest settlement and therefore one of the most worth seeing places on Brac. The most important attraction is the Muzej otoka Brača Museum, where you can marvel at a Roman mausoleum and countless interesting exhibits from different eras of Brača's history

Also worth seeing is the Olive Oil Museum right next to it, which offers very exciting tours followed by a tasting.
Supetar

Supetar is one of Brac's most popular holiday resorts and, with 3,500 inhabitants, is the largest city on the island.
It is located on the north coast and can be easily reached by ferry from Split. What is particularly beautiful is the romantic harbor with the pretty old town, where cozy restaurants and taverns line the waterfront and form the tourist center. Also worth seeing is the parish church of Supetar, which, together with the traditional Dalmatian stone houses, essentially characterizes the picturesque cityscape.
The beaches of Supetar are also a dream and are ideal for a relaxing beach holiday on Brac.
Golden Horn (Zlatni Rat Beach)

The Golden Horn, also known as Zlatni Rat Beach, is the main attraction on Brac and also the island's trademark. This world-famous dream beach is located in the south of the island, near the town of Bol mentioned above, and for many people a visit is almost a must on every Brac trip.
What is particularly impressive here is the unique sickle shape, which is reminiscent of a golden horn and extends almost 500 meters into the turquoise blue sea. Created by nature, the shape of this fine pebble beach changes depending on the current and tide.
The picturesque waterfront promenade from Bol to Zlatni Rat Beach is also beautiful, with numerous cozy cafes and beautiful bathing bays along the way.
Nerežišća

The former island capital Nerezisca is centrally located in the center of the island at an altitude of 382 m. Since every place can be reached from here with about the same speed and the location still protects against unwanted intruders, the respective government regularly established itself here until the end of Venetian rule.
The Church of St. Peter has stood unchanged since the 14th century. Only the surroundings changed: perhaps attracted by the rustic charm of the robust chapel, the city center formed around it, so that it can now be found directly on the main square.
In addition to the relief from 1578 in the interior, the pine tree growing from the walls outside is also worth seeing. It will be interesting to see how long the stones will defy the roots...
Povlja

Povlja is located 10 km east of Sumartin, on the north side of the island of Brac .
Benedictine monastery was founded in the same place in the middle of the 11th century. Century founded. It was devastated by Venetian surprise in 1145, and renovated in 1184.
Today's parish church of St. John the Baptist was built on the ruins of the monumental early Christian three-aisled basilica (5th century).
Povlja is surrounded by numerous bays (Travna, Smokvica, Ticja Luka, Tatinja, Luke) with different types of beaches, and in the bay itself there is a safe harbor.
